Payroll Assistant

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for aPayroll Assistant.

Position type: Full-time/ Contract

Duration: 3 months

Location: Bronx New York 10461

Shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM M-F, 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, 1-hour unpaid lunch

As a Payroll Assistant, You Will

Day to Day Responsibilities

Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees. Provide assistance in entering and paying all wage garnishments. Process property payroll transfer reports. Ensure benefits deductions are accurate. Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and maintain data integrity. Provide support to leadership team for various other accounting related projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Assist in entering and paying wage garnishments.
• Review, audit, and process employee timesheets for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Monitor daily time entries, missed punches, and scheduling exceptions.
• Audit time entries for overtime, holiday pay, shift differentials, and premium pay eligibility.
• Prepare and submit approved time records and adjustments for payroll processing.
• Investigate and resolve timekeeping discrepancies and payroll errors.
• Maintain documentation supporting payroll transactions.
• Track employee leave including annual, sick, comp, and FMLA leave.
• Verify leave balances and ensure correct leave codes are applied.
• Provide support to the payroll and leadership teams on various accounting-related projects.
  
  

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll and timekeeping.
• Experience with payroll processes such as garnishments, taxes, and year-end activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Pay Range And Benefits

Pay Range*: $29 - $32 per hour
