As a Data Center Construction Manager, You Will
- Direct and oversee Infrastructure Technician teams on data center construction projects.
- Drive and enforce Safety Program; ensure OSHA standards and accident-free operations.
- Lead safety incident investigations, RCAs, and lessons learned.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Control Programs.
- Create and maintain 5-week lookahead schedules; manage project plans and construction scheduling.
- Allocate and manage workforce to meet project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate material shipments with project management and procurement.
- Interview, hire, train, and develop field workforce staff.
- Mentor technicians; provide technical guidance ensuring compliance with ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEBS standards.
- Lead site walks, represent telecom discipline in cross-functional meetings.
- Manage change control impacts on design, procurement, and schedules.
- Ensure proficiency with MS Office, Blue Beam, and construction management software.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 3–5 years supervisory experience.
- Experienced in effectively managing large, geographically dispersed teams (100 ) on large projects and construction sites.
- Experience overseeing mission-critical infrastructure cabling installations (data center new build/retrofit).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and structured cabling best practices.
- Expertise in fiber optic systems, OTDR testing, commissioning, and QA protocols.
- Ability to read/interpret design documents, drawings, and construction schedules.
- Skilled in scheduling, sequencing conflict resolution, and managing priorities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience managing large union telecom crews with knowledge of union rules, collective bargaining agreements, work jurisdiction, and labor compliance.
- Professional certifications:
- OSHA-30 Hour (must obtain within 6 months if not certified).
- BICSI Technician (TECH).
- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
