Job Title: Clinical Medical Assistant (Contract)
Job Type: 2-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $24/hr
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support in a patient-centered healthcare setting. This role focuses on supporting participant care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and assisting medical staff in delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support & Patient Care
- Assist in prioritizing daily participant scheduling by collaborating with medical staff to manage patient flow
- Take vital signs and collect specimens, including phlebotomy, finger sticks, and pulse oximetry, as requested
- Report abnormal findings and changes to the Registered Nurse or Provider
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with positioning and ensuring readiness for care
- Support providers and nurses with medical procedures and treatments within scope of training
- Assist with preparation and administration of medications (e.g., inhalers, eye drops, injections) based on qualifications
Lab & Documentation Duties
- Ensure all lab specimens are properly labeled and prepared for timely courier pickup
- Confirm receipt of lab results and follow up with lab vendors as needed
- Perform necessary charting, filing, and clerical duties to maintain accurate records
- Complete assigned weekly audits
Administrative & Operational Support
- Schedule internal and external appointments, including specialist visits and lab work
- Educate participants and communicate lab results as directed
- Maintain exam room cleanliness, stock supplies, and manage inventory/reordering needs
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and EKGs
- At least 1 year of experience working with frail or elderly populations
- High school diploma or GED
