Security | Low Voltage Estimator

We are looking for a driven, experienced estimator / designer who is looking for a long-term career.  This role involves thoroughly and accurately estimating the costs projects involving various low voltage systems including but not limited to the following:

• 
  Fire systems
• 
  Security Systems
• 
  Surveillance Systems
• 
  Access Control Systems
• 
  Structured Cabling Systems

Job Duties:

• Create detailed take offs from plans and drawings.
• Perform site surveys and walk projects with customers.
• Provide technical and quote preparation.
• Coordinate resources and prepare proposals complete with bill of materials, labor, subcontract, and other charges as needed.
• Create detailed project descriptions, scope of work, as well as information needed for an accurate and detailed job file.
• Keep informed of new products and developments. Attend in-house training sessions and manufacturers’ training as assigned and/or required.
• Grow and maintain NFPA 72 and IBC building code knowledge.
• Develop new relationships with general contractors.
• Develop new relationships with electrical contractors.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Must have a high level of knowledge and hands on experience with design and installation of Low Voltage Communications Cabling Systems, CCTV and Access Control Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, and Audio-Visual Systems Integration.
• Great leadership and organizational skills.
• Highly proficient in computer skills.
• Must be able to read requests for proposals, and floor plans and provide proposals accordingly.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational ability and time management skills.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Represent the company in a professional, credible manner in speech, written communication, and appearance.

Education and Experience:

• Experience in estimating and sales in the Low Voltage industry.
• NICET Level II preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with Building Codes and Fire Alarm standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft suite of products.
• Experience with CAD and / or Vizio preferred.
