What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold Technician position at Innova Engineered Plastics?
The Mold Making Technician supports the department lead and production management in the fabrication and completion of mold-building projects. This role follows manufacturing orders and schedules to perform assigned tasks, ensures proper documentation and material availability, and maintains quality, safety, and compliance standards throughout the mold-making process. The technician assists with complex operations as needed, performs inspections, utilizes applicable tools and MRP systems, and demonstrates continuous skill development toward independent mold fabrication. Strong communication, attention to detail, and adherence to company core values are essential to ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Assist department lead and or manager in mold making activities
- Follow lead provided MO schedule and/or the production manager’s guidance to perform
tasks assigned.
- Inform lead when supplies necessary for your assigned MO are almost depleted or not
available.
- When your assigned tasks within an MO order is complete, notify your lead for evaluation
and then continue through the process, at completion and after lead evaluation, deliver
to designated fabrication department.
- Daily audit your area of assignment to ensure no product, master, or molds are present
in an un-documented status. If any identified, immediately attempt to remedy or notify
your lead to assist.
- Notify your lead of any errors in your task or of any discrepant products.
- Learn and develop an understanding of all job specific techniques and team building
skills to complete mold building projects in a timely manner, and demonstrate
progressing capability in your ability to fabricate molds alone.
- Have an ability to develop a working knowledge and ability to use applicable tools and
MRP software.
- Responsible for compliance to all applicable Quality Systems Management procedures.
- Assisting the lead when needed on complex operations and on difficult projects.
- 6 Point inspection /creating inspection report when requested of masters and molds.
- Notify lead when Project Engineer or Master Lead assistance is required for any missing
design info or clarification on your assigned Work Orders is needed.

- Perform other tasks as required by lead or production manager.
- Successfully completes all required and annual training for your job assignment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma / GED or equivalent experience preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing in compliance with a quality system desired.
- Computer proficiency with MS Windows, MS Office and MRP software desired.
- Excellent personal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
