What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at Innospec Inc.?
Responsible for sample receipt, logging, and distribution, along with fulfilling shipments requests, and managing inventories in a fast-paced lab environment.
Essential Functions
- Receive, log, and assign incoming samples to the appropriate lab with accuracy and timeliness
- Execute and manage kit shipments from customer requests
- Maintain organized inventory and storage to support uninterrupted operations
- Monitor daily workflow and reporting to keep operations efficient and on track
- Support customer inquiries and other site shipping tasks
Role Requirements
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with data entry, tracking systems, and inventory tools
- Able to shift priorities quickly based on business and customer needs
- Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally with customers and scientific associates
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface across all functions/teams
- Sense of urgency to achieve results
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Power Platform
- Familiarity with shipping processes and documentation (domestic and international)
- Experience working in a chemistry or other physical science laboratory preferred.
Environmental Restrictions
- Ability to perform essential job duties in both indoor and outdoor environments, including offices, facilities, and external job sites.
- Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, moving equipment, and uneven terrain.
- Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and operating tools or equipment as necessary to perform job responsibilities.
