Role: Release Train Engineer
W2 Contract Position
Hybrid Role in Atlanta, GA
JD:
- A servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).
- Operates within the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
- Focuses on program-level coordination, Agile ceremonies, team alignment, and removing impediments.
Release Management
- A process-oriented function responsible for planning, scheduling, tracking, and deploying releases into production.
- Ensures releases are delivered with quality, compliance, and minimal risk.
RTE Responsibilities
- Facilitates PI Planning, System Demos, ART Sync, and Inspect & Adapt.
- Coordinates dependencies across 8–15 Agile teams.
- Removes risks, blockers, and ensures continuous improvement.
- Aligns with Product Management & System Architects.
- Drives transparency using metrics (flow metrics, PI progress, ART burndown).
Release Management Responsibilities
- Owns the end-to-end release lifecycle.
- Creates release calendars, cut-over plans, and deployment schedules.
- Manages versioning, release notes, change approvals (CAB), and compliance.
- Coordinates with DevOps, QA, Security, Infra, and Operations.
- Ensures successful deployment and post-release validation.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools (JIRA, Rally, Azure DevOps, Trello, etc.).
- Proven ability to coach teams and influence stakeholders.
