Role Overview — Account Director, Hardlines and Softlines
Location: Client Office in Coraopolis, PA (Hybrid Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday onsite; Monday/Friday remote)
Position Summary
The Account Director — Hardlines & Softlines oversees strategy, execution, and team leadership for Innomark’s partnership with a major sporting goods retailer across their Hardlines and Softlines business segments. This includes, but is not limited to, categories such as Golf, Team Sports, Apparel, and Footwear.
This role provides day-to-day leadership for the production team, ensuring successful execution of all in-store marketing programs — from concept and creative development through production, fulfillment, and installation. The Account Director serves as the primary link between the client’s internal teams and Innomark’s production, creative, and distribution departments.
This position reports directly to the Senior Account Director, RWOB, with regular touchpoints to align on priorities, client expectations, and broader account strategy.
Core Responsibilities
Client & Account Leadership
- Serve as the primary client contact for Hardlines and Softlines production programs.
- Partner closely with category leads to plan upcoming initiatives and align on timing, budgets, and deliverables.
- Lead weekly status meetings and quarterly business reviews.
- Act as the escalation point for production, distribution, or timing challenges.
- Maintain proactive, transparent communication to strengthen client relationships.
Team Management & Development
- Manage and mentor the Production Project Managers supporting Hardlines and Softlines.
- Oversee project assignments, workload balance, and daily communication.
- Foster strong collaboration across creative, production, and distribution teams.
- Partner with Creative Production leadership to ensure designers receive accurate instructions for kit/OOK needs.
- Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities for direct reports.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee monthly kit and OOK instruction execution, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Lead planning and coordination for store walk sets and ensure in-store execution aligns with expectations.
- Open and manage placeholder and split-ship monthly kit projects, keeping timelines and budgets on track.
- Maintain visibility into Ohio-based production activity to ensure schedule adherence and quality.
- Communicate any production or fulfillment issues to client leadership promptly with solutions.
Financial & Strategic Management
- Review and approve scopes, estimates, and budgets as needed.
- Partner with Finance and Production to ensure profitability and pricing accuracy.
- Monitor workload distribution across segments and adjust staffing or priorities when necessary.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen consistency and efficiency across cycles.
Communication & Collaboration
- Act as the liaison between the client, Innomark Production (OH), Creative, and Distribution teams.
- Ensure alignment on scope, schedules, and deliverables across all groups.
- Escalate risks early and clearly communicate next steps.
- Collaborate regularly with the Senior Account Director to align on strategy and resource planning.
Success in This Role
- Hardlines and Softlines programs consistently meet timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.
- Monthly kit and OOK instructions are accurate, clear, and on-time.
- Store walk sets are well-planned, well-coordinated, and executed successfully.
- Placeholder and split-ship projects open and flow seamlessly without delays.
- Production and distribution teams remain aligned and informed.
- Client leadership receives proactive communication and solution-oriented updates.
- Strong alignment is maintained between the Account Director and Senior Account Director on overall account strategy.
