INNOCEAN USA, a full-service advertising agency is looking for a Legal & Business Affairs Manager to join our growing team!
This is a long-term, on-going, contract role with access to our benefits!
We are a hybrid workplace, currently x3 days in-office. Candidates must be local to SoCal.
OVERVIEW
As a member of the team, you will be managing all business facets of content production across IUS's client roster, including production and talent contracting, licensing and clearances, budget administration, scoping legal issues, managing influencer programs, and interpreting the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Solid knowledge of SAG-AFTRA’s Commercial Contract/Corp-Ed Contract/New Media Agreement, AFM Contracts, and Influencer/Creator Agreements
- An understanding of contracting both Influencer and Content Creators
- Thorough understanding of broadcast production and Business Affairs in advertising
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Self-motivation and problem-solving attitude in fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills and a strong attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with various teams and facilitate decision making based on collective team input
- Working knowledge of copyright, trademark, and licensing in the area of entertainment or advertising law with particular emphasis on digital content/technology initiatives and able to partner with Legal Counsel or Senior Managers as needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Senior Managers/Director to review creative for any clearances/licensing, and provide watch outs
- Prepare production estimate with breakdowns and pertinent info from producers
- Partner with client’s cost consultants to ensure estimate approval
- Create production start-up documents, including production agreements, insurance coverage, and talent mandatories Handle talent contracting and estimating for commercial and non-commercial productions, including preparation of SAG contracts and non-union talent agreements
- Procure and contract celebrity, influencer and content creator talent – from research and deal points to final negotiation.
- Manage research/outreach/negotiation/contract of third-party licensing, including stock, film/TV, music, props, etc.
- Issue purchase orders, facilitate invoice approvals, payment and job actualization
- Work closely with Senior Managers, legal counsel, and account teams to resolve any liability issues within assigned production, creating viable and workable solutions.
- Train and guide teammates at Associate and Coordinator levels
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years related experience in advertising agency or commercial production
- Understanding of Social Media platforms
- Industry expertise and experience
- Solutions driven, a relentlessly optimistic and strategic problem-solver

The salary range for this role is $97,000 - $115,000. Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: client, experience, training and/or transferable skills.
