Bus Driver

Innocademy Allegan is seeking a dedicated, safety-conscious Bus Driver to join our team. As a member of our school family, you are the first smiling face our students see in the morning and the last one they see before heading home. We operate on a Balanced Calendar, offering a unique schedule that provides frequent breaks throughout the year to support your work-life balance.

You will manage daily routes and school field trips, ensuring the highest standards of safety and care for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Student Safety: Provide secure transport and professional supervision for children during all trips.
• Compliance: Adhere to all Innovative Education Services (IES), MDOT, and MDE regulations regarding student transport.
• Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with the School Lead regarding student behavior or safety concerns.
• Fleet Care: Coordinate vehicle servicing (oil changes, state inspections, etc.) to ensure the bus remains in peak condition.

Required Qualifications & Legal Compliance:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet all State of Michigan and Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements:

• Licensing: Must possess a valid Michigan CDL (Class B) with both Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Medical Fitness: Must pass and maintain a valid MDOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical).
• Drug & Alcohol Testing: Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and consent to enrollment in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and our random testing pool.
• Background Clearance: Must pass a comprehensive criminal history check, including FBI fingerprinting as required by Michigan law for school employees.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Driving Record: Must have a clean driving record (no 6-point violations and a history demonstrating safe operation of passenger vehicles).

Compensation & Schedule:

• Drive Time: $26.50 per hour.
• Field Trip Wait Time: $17.00 per hour.
• Schedule: Before & After School Route (3 stops) and Field Trips during the school day.
