Location: Orlando, FL, Ashburn VA Los Angeles CA or Austin TX Term: 6 Months (Could Extend or Even Go Perm Down The Road) Position Title: Data Center Engineer Estimated Start Date: 1/5 Pay: $50.00/hr. Scope of Work: ServicePoint has a customer seeking a Data Center Engineer for a 6 month remote opportunity located in either Orlando FL, Ashburn VA, Los Angeles CA or Austin TX. The individuals will need to be located in one of these cities in case it is necessary for them to go into the office at times. This is a Monday-Friday 9AM-5:30PM CST based hours. The responsibilities of this position are as follows: · Contribute to the design, buildout, and expansion of enterprise data center environments, including power, cooling, networking, storage, and compute infrastructure. · Understanding of rack PDU's, new installations, upgrades, firmware upgrades, IP'ing. · Working knowledge of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software. Asset management, power management. · Contribute to the deployment, installation, and configuration of servers, storage arrays, network hardware, and supporting infrastructure. · Working knowledge of data center capacity planning across power, space, and cooling to ensure long-term scalability and reliability. · Awareness of hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, vendor coordination, RMA processing, and end-of-life transitions. · Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis efforts for complex infrastructure or hardware failures. · Understanding of data center standards, operational procedures, and documentation. · Working knowledge of power distribution, HVAC, fire suppression, and physical security systems. · Contribute to structured cabling design, installation, labeling, and documentation for copper, fiber, and MTP/MPO systems. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams—network, cloud, security, operations—to support hybrid and multi-site architectures. · Working knowledge of vendor relationships, service contracts, and on-site support activities. · Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level data center engineers and technicians. · Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and internal security policies. · Mainly will work with Sunbird DCIM, Sunbird PowerIQ Qualifications: · 7 years professional experience. · Experience in colocation and wholesale DC environments. · Need to have proven data center experience, DCIM Data Center Infrastructure Management - (Sunbird DCIM & Sunbird PowerIQ) is the special tool EA uses. · Need to have the ability to assist the EA team in managing data centers activities in different time zones as they are global company. · Hardware lifecycle management experience · Good communicator, written skills, team player, reliable NICE TO HAVES: · Someone who has worked in the Data Center for many years (senior level) L3 level · Familiarity with Linux OS is a plus
