Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the plant’s Quality and Food Safety systems to ensure the consistent production of safe, compliant, and high-quality packaging products. This role provides leadership for all quality assurance activities, including food safety programs, regulatory compliance, auditing, sanitation oversight, customer quality requirements, and elements of continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, builds strong cross-functional relationships, and drives accountability through systems, standards, and team engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Food Safety Leadership
- Lead and manage all Quality Assurance and Food Safety functions for the facility.
- Maintain and improve quality systems to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company standards.
- Serve as the site leader for BRC/SQF, HACCP, GMP, allergen control, sanitation, and food safety programs.
- Ensure plant compliance with all food packaging safety and quality requirements.
Auditing & Compliance
- Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits while ensuring audit readiness at all times.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to quality and food safety systems.
- Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities to address nonconformances and improve system effectiveness.
- Monitor and communicate quality metrics, trends, and opportunities to plant leadership.
Operational Quality Support
- Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve process capability and product quality.
- Support new product launches, material qualifications, process validations, and production startups.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Work directly with production teams to reduce waste, improve consistency, and strengthen accountability on the manufacturing floor.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop quality team members while promoting a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Build strong engagement with hourly and salaried teams around quality and food safety expectations.
- Provide training and guidance related to GMPs, sanitation, food safety, and quality procedures.
Supplier & Customer Quality
- Manage supplier quality evaluations and support qualification activities for suppliers and co-packers.
- Support customer complaint investigations and ensure timely root cause analysis and resolution.
- Serve as a key customer contact for quality-related topics when needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.

Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
