Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Always approaches all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Promotes a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.
- Sees to the comfort of guests through answering questions, conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar, and makes suggestions based on their preferences.
- Delivers food to guests at the proper table at the proper time, quickly and efficiently.
- Maintains knowledge of the menu and all specials.
- Arranges table settings prior to guests being seated.
- Busses tables and cleans and sanitizes them as guests are done eating and leave.
- Ensures guests are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Adheres to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
- Maintains a friendly attitude, attending all guests in an efficient and prompt manner.
- Collects used dishes and utensils from tables and returns them to the dishwashing area.
- Assists with inventory procedures. Alerts Supervisor about shortages or discrepancies.
- Cleans spills, re-stocks and wipes down tables, chairs, sweep floors etc.
- Inspects supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
- Projects a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service.
- Maintains a clean, healthy, and safe working area along with awareness of all sanitary practices.
- Supports other staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Adheres to safety and quality regulations.
- Handles guest complaints and solve problem to the degree possible.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by management.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form.
- Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.
- Knowledge of reservation and POS systems.
- Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred.
- Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
- Must be a team player.
