What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality Containerized Gas Engine Power Plants (Houston) position at INNIO?
As a Quality Engineer in the area of supplier quality, you will be responsible for the assembly and manufacturing quality of INNIO's containerized gas engine power plants. You will work closely with internal departments and our suppliers to ensure that the required quality standards, sustainability, and continuous improvements are maintained throughout the supply chain.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support, qualify, and develop suppliers in all quality-related areas, including manufacturing, assembly, mechanics, and electrical systems
- Supervise supplier processes on-site, identify non-conformances and risks
- Define, introduce, and approve quality assurance test steps together with suppliers and specialist departments
- Support suppliers in processing quality cases, including complaint management (8D reports, root cause analysis, tracking measures)
- Ensure the engineering change process at the supplier, including fleet programs
- Support supplier audits and help improve their quality management systems, including subcontractors where necessary
- Initiate and support corrective and preventive measures as well as continuous improvement projects (CIP)
- Provide support for new projects and series production launches
Your Profile:
- Completed technical degree (e.g., mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, production engineering) or comparable education
- Technical experience with engine gensets and packaging of power generation equipment (mechanical and electrical)
- Professional experience in quality management or supplier quality
- Analytical thinking, assertiveness, and negotiation skills
- Very good communication skills in German and English
- Willingness to travel for supplier audits and on-site support
