Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing mental health issues, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Monitor and record patients’ mental and physical health status, including behaviour, mood, and vital signs.
- Administer prescribed medications accurately and observe for adverse reactions or side effects.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalised treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Assist in crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring a calm and safe environment for all individuals involved.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment responses, and interventions in accordance with legal and organisational standards.
- Uphold infection control procedures and adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Valid registration as a Registered Nurse with specialisation or experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing.
- Proven experience in patient care within a mental health setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy relevant to nursing practice and mental health conditions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide empathetic support to patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Organised with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including potential overnight or weekend shifts if necessary.
