Die-Cutter Machine Operator 

Job Brief 

Innerpak Inc. Is seeking dependable and motivated individuals to join our manufacturing team as die-cut operators. This position supports daily production operations by setting up, operating, and maintaining die-cutting equipment to produce high-quality products according to customer specifications and production schedules. This role ensures accurate cutting, quality control, and efficient machine operation while maintaining a safe work environment. 

The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented and capable or working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. Training is provided. 

Job Responsibilities 

Production Operations 

  • Set up, operate, and monitor die-cutting equipment to meet production schedules and quality standards 
  • Build, prepare, install, and remove knives, dies, and related tooling for production runs 
  • Perform machine changeovers efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize production output 
  • Review job tickets, specifications, and production requirements prior to setup and operation 
  • Monitor machine performance during production runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency 
  • Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and material issues during production and take corrective action when appropriate 
  • Meet established production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards 
  • Locate, stage, and retrieve stock and materials required for production runs 
  • Follow all established work instructions, standard operating procedures, and production standards 
  • Empty out scrap bins to minimize down time as needed 

Tooling and Setup 

  • Inspect dies, knives, and other tooling components before and after use to ensure quality and functionality 
  • Verify partition dimensions, job specifications, and setup measurements before production begins 
  • Maintain organized tooling storage areas and accurate inventory of knives, inserts, and related setup components 
  • Report damaged, worn, defective, or missing tooling to supervisors or management 
  • Ensure tooling is properly cleaned, maintained, and stored after each production run 

Quality Control 

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to verify compliance with customer specifications 
  • Verify measurements, material requirements, and job specifications throughout production runs 
  • Identify and correct setup or production issues that may impact product quality 
  • Report quality concerns, non-conformances, and production issues promptly to supervisors or management 
  • Document production downtime, setup delays, tooling issues, quality concerns, and corrective actions as required 
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records 

Facility Maintenance 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment 
  • Return all tools, equipment, and materials to designated storage locations after use 
  • Keep die cutter workstations, tooling areas, and storage locations orderly and free of debris 
  • Assist with general facility housekeeping and maintenance as needed 
  • Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production area 

Safety Compliance 

  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures 
  • Properly wear, maintain, and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 
  • Closed-toe, non-slip footwear (required) 
  • Safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves as required by job tasks 
  • Report safety hazards, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly 
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous safety improvement initiatives 

Qualifications & Requirements  

Education 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required. 

Experience  

  • Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience is preferred 
  • Entry-level applicants are welcome to apply 

Skills and Abilities  

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team  
  • Ability to properly read a tape measure  
  • Ability to complete basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication problems 
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required 

Physical Requirements  

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time 
  • Frequent climbing, bending, lifting, and repetitive movement 
  • Able to lift a minimum of 40lbs 
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels 

Schedule (Overtime may be required based on production demands) 

First Shift  

  • Monday – Thursday 4AM – 1PM 
  • Friday 4AM – 8AM 

Second Shift  

  • Monday – Thursday 1PM – 11PM
