Medical Billing & Coding Specialist (Mental Health) – In Office
Location: Medford, OR
Job Type: Part Time, W-2 Employee

We are a growing outpatient mental health agency providing therapy and wrap around services across multiple locations. Our team is committed to high quality care, operational excellence, and strong support for our providers and clients.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and certified - detail oriented Medical Billing & Coding Specialist with a a background in mental health billing (but not required). This role is responsible for managing the full billing cycle, ensuring compliance, and optimizing reimbursement.
This is an in-office position working closely with our administrative and clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full cycle billing for mental health services (claims submission, follow up, and payment posting)
- Work with Medicaid/OHP, commercial insurance, and authorizations
- Identify and resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies
- Ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and modifier usage
- Maintain compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
- Communicate with providers regarding documentation and billing needs
- Support credentialing and payer setup as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Billing/Coding (CPC, CCS, CBCS, or equivalent) Required
- 2–5 years of billing experience (mental/behavioral health strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes, authorizations, and denials
- Experience with EHR systems (Valant or similar is a plus)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an office setting
