About Mind Motion
The Mind Motion Program is an integrative wellness membership that combines mental health support, fitness training, and nutrition education to help individuals build sustainable, healthy lifestyles. Our model centers on empowerment, behavior change, body respect, and long-term well-being—not quick fixes. We are seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to join our collaborative care team as part of this innovative program.
Position Overview
We are looking for a part-time contracted Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to provide nutrition education, individualized guidance, and behavior-based support to Mind Motion participants. The RDN will play a key role in helping clients build healthier relationships with food, understand nutrition numbers in an accessible way, and develop sustainable eating habits without shame, restriction, or weight stigma.
Participants in the program will have access to meet with the dietitian up to twice per month, and the dietitian will also support group education and collaborative programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual nutrition sessions (up to two per participant per month) focused on behavior change, food education, and sustainable habit building
- Offer nutrition education related to:
- Healthy eating habits
- Portion control and balanced meals
- Understanding calories, macros, and nutrition labels
- Weight-related concerns in a non-stigmatizing, weight-inclusive way
- Support clients with co-occurring health conditions, including but not limited to:
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Obesity
- Apply principles of Body Liberation, Health at Every Size (HAES), and weight-inclusive care in all client interactions
- Collaborate with therapists, fitness coaches, and wellness providers as part of the Mind Motion interdisciplinary care team
- Assist with group nutrition workshops or educational sessions as part of the program (as scheduled)
- Maintain ethical, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed nutrition care
- Complete documentation in accordance with program and professional standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
- Licensed or eligible for practice in the state of Michigan
- Weight-inclusive care
- Body liberation approaches
- Non-diet, behavior-based nutrition coaching
- Experience working with clients with chronic health conditions (diabetes, heart disease, obesity, etc.)
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently in a contracted role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in integrative or collaborative care settings
- Background in community wellness, mental health, or fitness-based programs
- Passion for health equity, culturally responsive care, and accessible wellness services
