- OVERVIEW:**\
(WHNP) serves as a primary care provider delivering comprehensive
healthcare services to patients across the lifespan. This role
emphasizes wellness, disease prevention, patient education, and the
delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical
planning
- Triage patients to distinguish between urgent and non-urgent care
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory testing,
- Perform minor outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures,
- Prescribe medications, treatment regimens, and other therapeutic
practice
- Educate and counsel patients regarding preventive care, disease
- Communicate test results, follow-up recommendations, and care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical documentation
- Participate in clinical meetings, quality improvement initiatives,
- Complete continuing medical education (CME) requirements necessary
- Demonstrate flexibility and collaboration by supporting other
Health services, as needed
- Participate in limited on-call responsibilities, as assigned
- Provide education and training support to medical assistants and
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in
- Board certification through:
- ANCC or AANPCB for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or
- NCC for Womens Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Illinois Controlled Substance License and DEA registration
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time management skills
- Ability to make sound, objective decisions while maintaining the
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively

Preferred Qualifications
- Illinois Full Practice Authority (APN-FPA) authorization preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferred
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates strongly preferred (Spanish,
