What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Event Staff position at Inn At Taughannock?
The Inn at Taughannock Falls is a premier wedding and event destination. The property also boasts a lakeview dining restaurant and a luxury boutique hotel. On weekends, the estate hosts multiple events and weddings, including in our large scale outdoor garden venue, called Enchantment.
We are seeking temporary event staff who would assist with setting up and breaking down our event venues and their furniture and décor. This would primarily be focused on weekends and would involve physical labor. This position is seasonal, and employees in good standing are asked to return during following seasons.
Responsibilities
- Handle and transport materials including chairs, tables, and equipment
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks, including reviewing and following floorplans
- Put up warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby
- Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
- Perform needed cleaning tasks, firepit and fireplace tending, or groundskeeping tasks.
Requirements
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
