The Systems Administrator is responsible for the reliability, security, and day-to-day operation of the company’s IT infrastructure. This role owns core systems including servers, identity, cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365, networking, and endpoint management. The ideal candidate is hands-on, security-minded, and comfortable troubleshooting complex issues independently in a mixed on-prem and cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (on-prem and Azure)
- Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, Entra ID (Azure AD), Teams, and Intune
- Provision and manage user accounts, permissions, groups, and access controls
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
- Administer network services including firewalls, VPNs, LAN/WAN, and site-to-site connectivity
- Patch, update, and harden systems according to best practices
- Troubleshoot outages and complex technical issues across systems and networks
- Work with vendors and ISPs while owning resolution and follow-through
- Maintain accurate system documentation and diagrams
- Support IT projects such as infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and security initiatives
- Assist with endpoint management and escalation support when needed
- 3 years experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role
- Strong Windows Server administration experience
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, routing, VPNs)
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
- Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms
- Experience implementing security controls, backups, and recovery
- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and methodically
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Technical Experiences:
- Azure infrastructure administration (VMs, networking, RBAC)
- Intune / endpoint management
- VMware or Hyper-V
- Linux administration
- Scripting or automation (PowerShell preferred)
