Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant - I to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing supportive patient care under the supervision of licensed physical therapists in our privately owned outpatient clinic. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, with experience in diverse therapeutic environments such as orthopedics, geriatrics, vestibular and sports. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and improve quality of life through targeted therapy interventions mostly manual therapy and dry needling and excellent modalities such as Shockwave therapy and LASER.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans for patients
- Perform therapeutic exercises and electro-modalities, including trigger point therapy and other manual techniques.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and report progress or concerns to supervising therapists.
- Educate patients and caregivers on post-treatment care plans, discharge instructions, and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments administered and patient progress in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support discharge planning processes by coordinating follow-up therapies or referrals as needed.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines during all patient interactions.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
- Maintain valid and unrestricted NH state PTA license
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and various physiotherapy techniques.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, orthopedics, Athletes and women's health
- Prior clinical experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with care plans, discharge planning procedures, and documentation standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced environments.
