WHAT YOU’LL DO:

We are currently seeking a multi-faceted, meticulous Deputy Program Manager (Deputy PM) to support our large, multi-year Programs withing the Department of Defence.   The Deputy PM plays a critical role in supporting the Program Manager to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of Programs within scope, time, and budget constraints. The Deputy PM collaborates with cross-functional teams to coordinate resources, manage risks, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders. Leverage prior experience in Project/Program Management to develop Program plans, track progress, and resolve issues that arise during the Program lifecycle.  Ultimately, this role is essential for driving Program success and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Manager in developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate daily project activities and ensure effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in Quarterly Program Reviews to present status reports to Senior Management and Executive Leadership.
  • Leverage proven processes and procedures to identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities within assigned existing programs.
  • Facilitate meetings, document decisions, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancements.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of Project/Program Management experience with emphasis on key armed forces services within the Department of Defense including the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Space Force.  Prior experience in the US Military desired.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of core software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Ability to look for ways to improve internal processes and procedures to improve work flow, anticipate needs, and improve efficiency. 
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

  • Analytical thinker, metrics driven.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively communicate order and equipment status to internal and external organizations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, excellent analytical ability.
  • Self-starter, able to work alone as well as in a team environment.
  • Work well under pressure with differing levels of management.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.  
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance, if required.
