Job Summary
Inland Transport LLC is seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with Flatbed, Stepdeck routes, including OTR driving routes.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring cargo is secured according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Transport various types of cargo
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes and ensure timely deliveries while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and compliance with DOT standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or cargo issues.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery.
- Understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving.
- Experience handling different types of freight
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A CDL experience, with at least 1 year of dedicated open-deck/flatbed experience.
- Securement Expertise: You must be highly proficient in securing steel coils, lumber, and structural materials. Tarping experience is mandatory.
