Job Title: Warehouse Operations Supervisor Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Reports to: Facility Manager Campus: Harrisburg, PA
Supervises: Leads, Warehouse Associates, Temp Labor Schedule: M-F, Day Shift; hours may vary subject to change based on business needs
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day execution of warehouse operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate handling of inbound and outbound product. This role supports the Facility Manager by supervising frontline teams, enforcing SOPs, monitoring productivity, and maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
The Supervisor plays a critical hands-on leadership role, translating operational plans into daily execution while escalating risks, performance issues, and improvement opportunities to management
Essential Functions:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including inbound receiving, storage, inventory movement, and outbound preparation
- Execute daily and weekly work plans as directed by the Warehouse Operations Manager
- Monitor workflow and labor utilization to meet productivity and service expectations
- Ensure all operational documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time
- Coordinate inbound freight receiving and ensure proper documentation of discrepancies, damages, and variances
- Support space utilization and product consolidation efforts to maximize efficiency
- Supervise Team Leads and warehouse associates during assigned shifts
- Delegate work assignments and prioritize tasks based on operational needs
- Coach, train, and motivate associates to meet performance expectations
- Provide day-to-day performance feedback and escalate ongoing issues to management
- Support cross-training initiatives to ensure operational coverage
- Enforce safety rules and company policies at all times
- Ensure daily equipment and forklift inspections are completed and documented
- Ensure safety awareness in assigned areas and report unsafe conditions immediately
- Respond to safety incidents according to training and reporting procedures
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure work areas
- Track and report key operational metrics to management, including productivity, inventory accuracy, and safety observations
- Participate in shift meetings, handoffs, and operational briefings
- Communicate staffing concerns, operational risks, and performance issues to management in a timely manner
- Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts as assigned
- Operate material handling equipment (certification required)
- Perform other related duties in support of warehouse operations
Qualifications:

- Warehouse Systems (WMS): Ability to learn and effectively use warehouse management systems relevant to assigned operations
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Working knowledge of warehouse and office procedures and ability to enforce compliance
- Warehouse Operations Knowledge: Understanding of how inbound, storage, inventory, and outbound functions interact
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to identify operational issues and escalate solutions appropriately
- Communication: Clear and concise verbal and written communication with associates and management
- Leadership & Professionalism: Ability to lead frontline teams with integrity, accountability, and professionalism
- Performance Focus: Ability to meet or exceed productivity, quality, and safety standards established by management and customers
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Ability to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and recommend improvements
- Technology & Tools: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and communication
- Work Ethic & Attitude: Willingness to collaborate, support team objectives, and maintain a positive, solution-oriented
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations
- 1-2 years of prior supervisory/managerial preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and OSHA standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
