SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Program Manager of Resource Development and Transportation Program, and in conjunction with the Mobility and Transportation Specialist, coordinates own activities to implement effective and efficient IRC transportation processes, as assigned. Has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure that mobility and transportation programs offered will provide a safe and efficient transportation coordination service to the agency's consumers.
• Implement agency mission statement and core values in all aspects of service provision.
• Coordinate area-wide transportation program development activities in conjunction with Mobility and Transportation Specialist.
• Act as a resource to staff and vendors regarding transportation.
• Liaise with Inspection & Maintenance Contractor.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings when requested and appropriate.
• Respond to calls regarding transportation complaints, Special Incident Reports (SIRs), Questions, and Purchase of Service issues unresolvable by Consumer Support Technician III.
• Follow up on reportable SIRs and complaints.
• Act as a consultant to vendors regarding basic services, programming, and record keeping. Provide or coordinate educational opportunities or consultation for service providers to improve services.
• Participate in monthly meetings with vendors.
• Participate in public meetings as related to agency’s mobility and transportation program.
• Participate in quality assurance visits as assigned. Prepare reports and writes plans of correction as necessary and applicable to the quality assurance. Complete unannounced visits and appropriate documentation as assigned.
• Develop new vendors, resources, and trainings.
• Work with transportation vendors to ensure availability of scope of services to agency consumers by conducting unmet needs and satisfaction surveys.
• Daily, maintain an adequate skill level in interpersonal and community relationships.
• Assure that consumers' rights and dignity are maintained in the provision of services.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Comply with Agency's Personnel Policies and Procedures.
• Keep Program Manager of Resource Development and Transportation Program informed of pending work, work in progress, and problems encountered.
• Utilize bilingual skills in all aspects of the job as able and as required.
• Maintain a current knowledge base in regulations and policies of IRC and the State and Federal government as it applies to the provision of mobility and transportation.
• Attend training sessions as required.
• Provide orientation and ongoing staff development for staff as requested.
• Provide public information and education including “Introduction to Service Provision.”
• Comply with the Agency's Injury and Illness Prevention Plan. Notify Program Manager of Resource Development and Transportation Program of any unsafe working conditions.
• Successfully complete all assignments arising out of the agency’s Performance Contract.
• Maintain daily compliance with administrative requirements of the agency. Complete necessary paperwork, reports, etc. on a timely basis.
• Organize travel efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain a good driving record.
• Use equipment appropriately and keep it in good repair. Keep work area neat and orderly and free from hazards. Observe all safety rules.
• Utilize agency’s IT systems as assigned, maintaining security and following agency’s protocol and procedures, rules and requirements
• Work cooperatively and effectively with others. Perform as a member of the team, answer questions, share expertise and contribute to the harmony of the team.

Minimum Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited school.
• One-year experience working with individuals with intellectual and development disabilities or a closely related field.
• Ability to handle change well and be flexible and adaptable in dealing with interruptions, new priorities, and new assignments.
• Ability to follow oral and written direction.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others. Perform as a member of a team, answering questions, sharing expertise and generally contributing to the harmony of the team.
• Assure that consumer rights and dignity are maintained in the provision of services.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Full use of an automobile, possession of a valid California driver's license and liability insurance for the minimum amount prescribed by law or ability to provide for independent transportation. Must have and maintain a safe driving record.
