POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Location: Moscow, ID
Pay Range: $20/hr.
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Days/Times: Tuesday - Saturday; 9:00am - 5:30pm, April through October
Reports to: Hill Operations Lead
Department: 06
Status: Hourly
Main Responsibilities
- With close guidance, operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures
- Load equipment and material into vehicles and trailers
- Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
- Ensure proper operation of equipment by performing regular checks on their functionality
- Keep work area clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse
- Inspect, clean, lubricate, wash and refill equipment
- Abide by all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as all company safety procedures
- Proactively communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, and division leaders
- Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required (compost, etc.)
- Stage full and empty transfer trailers
- Maintain sump pumps
- Clean and inspect the Transfer Station drainage system
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform requirements
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
- Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
- Read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule throughout the year, including being available to work overtime as needed.
- Strong documentation and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to LSI
- Negative drug test result(s)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders
- Lift and maneuver 50 pounds frequently
- Lift, push, pull, bend, reach, twist, stoop, etc.
- Must be able to work in noise and all weather conditions
- Stand for at least 8 hours
