Position
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preventative maintenance and repair on waste and recycling trucks, heavy equipment, forklifts, and other machinery
- Maintain company equipment and materials, ensuring cleanliness and safe storage
- Verify proper equipment operation through routine functionality checks
- Adhere to and exemplify company policies and procedures while prioritizing safety at all times
- Collaborate effectively as a team member by providing professional feedback
- Communicate proactively and professionally with colleagues, clients, and supervisors
- Complete all required documentation and reports
- Perform welding tasks
- Diagnose mechanical issues
- Operate autonomously with minimal supervision
- Maintain a professional demeanor and comply with uniform standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Knowledge of safe and proper heavy equipment operation including trucks and forklifts
- Proficiency in comprehending, following, and enforcing safety procedures
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating on-call weekends
- Documentation and verbal skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Successful background check and negative pre-employment drug test
Preference will be given to applicants with experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely use ladders
- Capable of lifting and maneuvering objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Proficiency in performing physical activities
- Ability to operate in and outdoors in noisy, dirty, greasy environments and strong odors
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand for at least 8 hours
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
