Education Specialist – Mild/Moderate (Full-Time) We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate) to join our growing team at ILCS. This full-time position offers full benefits and STRS eligibility and is an excellent opportunity to work within a strong inclusion model serving students with mild to moderate needs. Our program is built on a commitment to high-quality instruction, collaboration, and meaningful inclusion, and we are looking for an educator who is passionate about supporting students in both general education and targeted small group settings. Position Overview: The Education Specialist will provide specialized academic instruction, case management, and collaborative support across 2–3 grade levels, working closely with general education teachers and support staff. This role requires strong organization and time management skills to effectively balance services across inclusive and small group environments. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized academic instruction in both general education (push-in) and small group (pull-out) settings Serve as case manager for a caseload ranging from approximately 10–27 students, including IEP development and progress monitoring Collaborate closely with general education teachers to support access to grade-level curriculum Implement evidence-based instructional practices, including science of reading approaches (e.g., Orton-Gillingham or similar methodologies) Participate in IEP meetings, team collaboration, and school-based problem-solving processes Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs Qualifications: Experience in inclusive practices and co-teaching models preferred Knowledge of or experience with science of reading frameworks (e.g., Orton-Gillingham) strongly preferred Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
