Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking menu items efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Support food safety protocols by following proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders accurately and upselling menu items to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, including bussing tables and cleaning kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service and uphold quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, kitchen work, or food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong understanding of food safety practices, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment typical of quick service or fast food restaurants
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and order calculations
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward serving customers and working as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform kitchen duties safely
