Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles including box trucks for local deliveries.
- Load, unload, and secure goods using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as hand trucks or dollies.
- Follow established routes efficiently while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering items accurately and professionally, addressing customer questions courteously.
- Assist with warehouse operations when not on delivery routes, including manuallay handling tasks.
- Use mobile devices to document deliveries, update logs, and communicate with dispatch teams in real-time.
- Maintain safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries and ensure workplace safety.
Requirements
- Prior delivery driver experience or warehouse experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving or operating a box truck is a plus.
- Ability to operate automatic transmission vehicles and use material handling equipment such as hand trucks or dollies.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, moving items, and manual handling tasks throughout the shift.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safe driving practices essential for route driving.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
