What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Wrap Installer and Production Technician position at INKFUSION Wraps & Graphics?
INKFUSION is a growing commercial vehicle wrap shop in Lakewood, NJ. We design, produce, and install vehicle wraps, fleet graphics, and commercial signage using premium 3M and Arlon materials. We're looking for an experienced Production & Install Specialist who can own a project from print through finished install — and take real pride in the work.
What You'll Do
Production:
- Run large format printer (color management, print quality, file prep)
- Prepare graphics created by design department into print-ready files and panels using Adobe Illustrator
- Operate vinyl plotter/cutter for graphics and decals
- Run laminator for finished prints
- Weed vinyl and prep panels for install
- Maintain equipment and keep the production area organized
Install:
- Install vinyl graphics and full wraps on commercial vehicles (vans, trucks, trailers)
- Properly prep substrates: wash, solvent clean, IPA wipe — every time
- Apply adhesion promoters where required (rivets, recesses, edges)
- Apply heat and post-heat per manufacturer specs
- Handle rivets, recesses, body lines, seams, and curves with proper technique
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 1 years of print production experience (large format printer, plotter, laminator, file prep)
- 2 years of vinyl wrap install experience (experience completing a recognized wrap training program is a plus)
- Comfortable working with 3M, Avery, or Arlon cast films and laminates
- Strong attention to detail and color accuracy
- Self-sufficient — manages your own workflow without micromanagement
- Reliable, on time, and good communicator
- Someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship and the quality of their work
Preferred:
- Experience with ONYX or similar RIP software
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator for the purpose of creating print-ready files and panels
- Experience running GFP Laminators, Mimaki Plotters, and HP Latex Printers, or similar equipment
- 3M Preferred Installer certification (or willingness to pursue it)
- Experience with high-roof commercial vans (Sprinter, ProMaster, Transit)
