What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at InjuryMD?
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for evaluation and treatment
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures as needed
- Support physical therapy workflows, including patient flow and treatment prep
- Perform occupational medicine services such as:
- Drug screens (urine, breath alcohol)
- Hearing tests (audiometry)
- Respirator fit testing
- Pre-employment and return-to-work physicals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready for use
- Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members
- Assist with front office tasks as needed (check-in, scheduling, etc.)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
- Experience with occupational medicine services is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
- Basic computer proficiency and EMR experience preferred
