Role Overview: Valuations Analyst
Initio Sphere is seeking finance professionals with strong valuation expertise to join the platform as Certified Valuations Analysts.
This is not a traditional employment role. Analysts operate as independent contractors and are activated through our certification and verification process.
Once Approved, Valuations Analysts:
Senior Valuations Analyst
Senior Valuations Analyst
Rating Score: 90–100
Pay: $150–200/hour
Typical Background:
Former investment banking, valuation advisory, private equity, venture capital, transaction advisory, or senior consulting professionals with 5 years of valuation and deal experience
Lead Valuations Analyst
Rating Score: 80–89
Pay: $100–150/hour
Typical Background:
Finance professionals with 3–5 years of valuation, modeling, or transaction experience
Valuations Analyst / Associate
Rating Score: 60–79
Pay: $50–100/hour
Typical Background:
Entry to mid-level analysts with strong valuation fundamentals and technical proficiency

Valuations Analysts are engaged only in valuation categories for which they have received approval. Typical work includes:

What You’ll Do (Approval-Based)

Valuation Analysis & Fair Value Support
- Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis
- Comparable company and precedent transaction analysis
- Football field and valuation summary materials
- Fair value and transaction-related valuation support
- Purchase price allocation (PPA) and financial reporting support
- Scenario, sensitivity, and downside valuation analysis
- Independent valuation support for acquisitions, exits, and capital raises
- Valuation inputs for investment committee and investor materials
- Review and challenge of assumptions used in operating and financial models
- Market, industry, and multiple benchmarking analysis
Approvals are earned through assessment results and demonstrated performance—not tenure.
How Analysts Start Earning
- Complete the Analyst Certification Assessment or approved Initio Sphere training
- Receive category-specific approvals (Valuation, Fair Value, Transaction Support)
- Get verified on the platform
- Begin earning immediately through hourly valuation projects and live deal work
Verified analysts are actively promoted to investors and deal sponsors.
Certification & Eligibility
To qualify, candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- Score ≥70% in at least one category of the Analyst Certification Assessment
- Complete Initio Sphere Financial Training
- Hold an active professional credential (CFA, CPA, Series 7, 63, 79, or equivalent)
Each analyst receives a 0–100 Analyst Rating Score, which determines:
- Platform visibility
- Approved valuation categories
- Recommended hourly rates
Compensation & Deal Terms
- Analysts operate as independent contractors, not employees
- Hourly rates vary by Rating Score and approval level
- Analysts may earn up to 10% of the first $100,000 in transaction fees
- Maximum deal-based earning: $2,500 per transaction
- Payments issued only after successful deal completion and fee collection
- Initio Sphere reserves the right to revoke approvals for quality or compliance issues
Valuations Analysts Do not:
- Provide investment advice
- Solicit securities
- Represent Initio Sphere in a regulated capacity
