Hourly Base Pay: $16.00-$17.00 ( .50 cents per hour swing shift differential)

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

InHarvest is hiring for our Production Packer (swing shift) position in Woodland, CA (next to Sacramento).

The Production Packer is responsible for keeping production lines moving efficiently and ensuring all product is packaged within InHarvest’s guidelines. The Production Packer works individually and within a team at different stations throughout the day to create a finished product. This is the first step to creating a product that helps connect people & the community through food. The Production Packer works under the direction of the Production Supervisor.

Prior experience is not needed, however, you must be a professional, hardworking, genuine person who puts pride into your work and cares about the work you do. You must be mature, motivated, reliable and responsible. You know your work reflects who you are, and you want to make a meaningful contribution.

Some of the key components to be successful in this position is having physical and mental stamina, enjoy working at a quick pace while being able to stay focused on a task as you are on your feet performing repetitive physical movements. This type of work is great for someone who also enjoys the satisfaction that comes from completing daily assigned tasks.

This is an entry level position that provides training, growth and advancement to the next levels.

This position is for swing shift. See the “Work Hours” section below for more information. This type of schedule is for someone who prefers the flexibility of a rotating schedule, tends to go to bed late and is more alert and has the most energy in the afternoon and evening. This shift is also convenient for someone who wants to avoid rush hour traffic or has personal obligations to tend to early in the day.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

We provide a safe, clean and dry (no washdown) work environment. The noise level is moderate (for the average person). You will be working with equipment and around machinery and forklifts. Indoor temperature fluctuates based on the season. Personal Protective Equipment (bump cap, ear plugs, safety glasses, hair/beard net, gloves, smock) must be worn while working.

WORK HOURS:

40 hours a week, Monday-Friday (plus overtime).

Swing Shift start times can be anywhere from 1:30pm-3:30pm.

• Typical shift is 10 hours. It can increase to 12 hours & on occasion slow to 8 hours
• Must be flexible with start and end work times & available to work Saturdays when required
• Time off requests are considered when the schedule is created

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform high quality work with little to no errors
• Be conscious and aware of your work and work surroundings
• Assist in setup of line equipment
• Feed and monitor flow of product into processing machinery
• Tape or fold cartons, chipboards or packaging related materials or items
• Assemble assortment packs or repacks
• Stack finished products on pallets
• Wash and dry packaging containers and utensils
• Rework product as needed
• Handle inventory quickly with a high level of accuracy, care and attention to detail
• Work well independently and within a team to complete projects and accomplish the goals of the department and InHarvest
• Work at different stations as production requires
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment
• Perform visual and physical product inspections
• Perform all work in accordance with InHarvest, state and federal food and safety standards, policies, rules, regulations and procedures
• Assist in warehouse or lab when needed
• Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Be at least 18 years old
• No wheat or gluten allergies or sensitivities
• High School diploma or other equivalent experience or education
• Speak, read and write English
• Perform basic math
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to lift up to 24 lbs.
• Able to adapt quickly and shift priorities
• Ability to maintain prolonged physical and mental effort
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods of time
• Flexible to schedule changes, shift rotations, working Saturdays and overtime, as required
• Ability to follow all federal and food guidelines
• Pass all drug, visual, audio, physical tests and background check
