Job Title: Agricultural Field Services Coordinator
Location: Athens, Illinois
Schedule: Full-time, seasonal | Monday – Friday, generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM but time may need to be adjusted during the busy season.

Position Summary:
The Agricultural Field Services Coordinator plays a vital role in the coordination and efficiency of daily operations. This individual will oversee scheduling and logistics for field sampling crews, maintain and organize field sampling records, and ensure proper data management through mapping software. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily and weekly schedules for soil sampling crews across multiple regions.
- Organize and prioritize fields to be sampled, ensuring timely and efficient routing.
- Utilize the data management software for tracking samples and data entry.
- Operate mapping software to manage field boundaries, sample points, and job status.
- Communicate regularly with field staff, lab personnel, clients, and agronomists.
- Maintain accurate records of fieldwork, sampling status, and client reports.
- Serve as the central point of contact for operational updates and inquiries.
- Ensure that all team members have the tools, maps, and information needed for daily assignments.
- Monitor and manage inventory for field supplies, sample bags, forms, and office materials.
- Provide general administrative support including filing, document preparation, phone and email correspondence.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in office administration or coordination role; agricultural or environmental sector experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and cloud-based tools.
- Familiarity with GPS mapping software is strongly preferred (training can be provided).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to learn about soil sampling procedures and agronomic terminology.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and seasonal workloads.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience in scheduling logistics or fleet coordination.
- Understanding of GPS and mapping systems.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and seasonal cycles.
- Basic understanding of soil sampling processes and lab workflows.
Compensation
- $17-24/hour, commensurate with experience
