- Performs daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Check loads to ensure product is being hauled in an appropriate and safe manner to adjust to desired level
- Maintain good working knowledge of the traffic routes of the city
- Must be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management
- Provides appropriate documentation on delivery tickets, ensures all delivery tickets are signed and returned.
- Strive to meet customer expectations without exception and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction survey results consistent with strategic objectives
- Maintain radio contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructions
- Cooperate and promote a team concept with all other company employees
- Required to follow all safety policies and procedures and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Texas valid commercial driver’s license (CDL A), required
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain and active DOT medical qualification
- Be able to read, write, and speak English
- Acceptable CSA – MVR
- Bilingual a plus
- Willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
- Lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
- Ability to operate hand controls with both hands.
- Ability to operate foot pedals with both feet.
- Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching.
- Ability to use vibration tools.
- Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather.
- Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels.
Working Conditions:
All time is spent in an outside setting that may require various periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
