Duties
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, ventilation fans, and refrigeration equipment according to schematics and HVAC design plans
- Conduct system inspections and diagnose issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on existing HVAC units and property systems to ensure efficient operation
- Repair and replace mechanical components such as compressors, fans, motors, and piping with precision welding and equipment repair techniques
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and electrical wiring diagrams to facilitate accurate installations
- Test system functionality post-installation or repair using specialized tools; ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems including refrigerant handling (including ammonia refrigeration) and plumbing connections
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC installation, service technician roles, or property maintenance
- Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and HVAC system design plans
- Experience with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus
- Skilled in plumbing work related to HVAC systems; familiar with appliance repair and boiler maintenance
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; adept at equipment repair and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
- Knowledge of welding techniques for ductwork or metal components; experience with field service operations
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate
drivers or similar vehicles efficiently
