Opportunity
The Deli Manager is responsible for effective overall operation of the Deli Department to achieve sales and profit goals established for the department.
Key Responsibilites
- Greet customers within 10 feet and respond to questions promptly.
- Provide accurate product information and recommendations.
- Create weekly schedules to ensure department coverage.
- Train staff on store procedures and operational standards.
- Manage inventory for freshness, quality, and proper stock levels while minimizing waste.
- Verify deliveries against invoices for accuracy and condition, submit required reports and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure correct pricing based on margin guidelines and department goals.
- Record price changes, in-store usage, voids, refunds, and spoilage per policy.
- Develop merchandising plans with the Store Manager and set department goals.
- Stock and rotate products following approved procedures for quality and compliance.
- Monitor product temperatures and adhere to health codes.
- Maintain clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing displays.
- Communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
- Handle damaged or spoiled goods according to company policy.
- Monitor the area for hazards and maintain a safe environment.
- Adhere to scheduled hours and store rules.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Previous deli experience is preferred.
- SERV Safe Certification is preferred.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs especially during times of high volume and/or stress.
- Must be able to read and do simple math problems.
- Wants to be part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- 18 years of age or older.
