About The Role
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Services and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Specialist (ECSE Teacher Specialist) is responsible for providing direct instruction, consultation, and coordination for eligible children from ages 2.5 through 5 years within settings. The Specialist will work collaboratively with a team of staff, i.e. preschool teachers, PT., OT, SSW, and ASD T.C, to coordinate appropriate support for students in a variety of inclusive preschool settings in multiple school districts. The ECSE Teacher Specialist will assist students in achieving the maximum level of functional independence possible within their capabilities, within the least restrictive environment, that meets the students' and families' needs.

- Provides developmental assessments for determination of eligibility for 2.5 through 5-year-old children and monitoring of child progress within special education services.
- Serve as a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team and the Individual Educational Planning Committee.
- Provides instruction for a mixed age as well as varied student disabilities in inclusive preschool settings.
- Possess a valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate with a special education endorsement.
- An early childhood endorsement is preferred. A special education endorsement with a willingness to seek an early childhood endorsement would be considered.
- Minimum of three years teaching experience.
