Excelsior Blower Systems, an Ingersoll Rand Company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer / CAD Designer who is looking for a role where no two designs are the same. Bring your expertise, and preferable electromechanical, PLC skills and work on rotating equipment skid design. Responsibilities
- Design structural steel skids using SolidWorks 3D software
- Create engineering submittal documents per project specifications
- Communicate with customers regarding product design and specifications
- Generate bills of material, cut lists and fabrication drawings
- Create and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
- Participate in finished equipment run testing
- Inspect completed assembled equipment skids
- Support the sales department with technical information
- Interact with shop fabrication & assembly personnel
- Bachelor of Science degree
- 3 years equivalent work experience
- 3 years of experience with 3D CAD software
- 2 years working with and understanding of structural steel metal fabrication and pipe weldments
- Ability to communicate with customers’ engineering departments
- Ability to multi-task and work with multiple projects
- Strong problem solving and project management skills
- Strong English communication skills, oral and written
- Ability to work in a small office environment and collaborate with peers
- Bachelor’s degree concentration in: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electro-mechanical Engineering Technology.
- A Computer Aided Drafting degree or certificate will be considered.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience in sheet metal forming
- Knowledge of electrical controls and wiring
- Experience with FEA tools and design validation methods
