Job Overview
The Warehouse Associate (Material Handler) distributes either production or non - production items and materials to various locations throughout the warehouse. Materials may consist of purchased parts, in process parts, or finished goods.
Responsibilities
- Move parts or finished product and delivers mail packages to various department locations and/or warehouse locations using an RF scanner.
- Maintain the required paperwork and documentation of all parts and materials moved in accordance with the specified procedures.
- Ensure safe operating process for all equipment
- Ensure work areas and other designated work areas are maintained in a safe and neat manner.
- Assist with the training and instruction of new employees who may be assigned to this area.
- Retrieve and count product to fulfill customer orders
- Participate in general housekeeping activity
- Stocking and arranging of product to ensure warehouse turns of inventory.
- Responsible for supporting the Distribution process by receiving and transporting components to the floor in accordance with predetermined safety, quality, method and sequence standards.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Required to work independently and with limited supervision.
- Independent decision-making ability
- Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and accept constructive criticism.
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of inventory processes
- Previous Material Handling experience (cherry/reach lift experience preferred)
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to follow through on commitments and details.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skill.
- Proven team player.
- Standing and/or walking for entire shift and ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Bending and/or stooping repeatedly throughout shift
- Lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds unassisted on a regular basis
- Be able to work in a non climate-controlled environment
- This position will be based onsite
