Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and dedicated CNC Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of a company that values creativity, excellence, and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical & Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Rind Vacuum Pumps & Compressors.
- Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions, etc. Ability to read Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Indicators & other precision measuring & test equipment as required.
- Able to maintain low tolerances as indicated by specifications or drawings as low as .0005 at times.
- Understands how to select appropriate cutting tools for various metals. Understands how to determine speeds and feeds to obtain proper surface finish.
- Able to work overtime; typically throughout the week and occasionally on weekends.
- Safe operation of Forklift within a Machine Shop environment. Safe Over Head Crane operation. Adheres to all company EH&S & QMS processes.
- Lifting and Rigging of heavy components of various configurations & weights. Assisting in the disassembly, reassembly, repair and rebuilding of Large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps.
Requirements:
- Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge of machine setup, as well as usage of machine controls and capabilities.
- 2 years of experience as a machine operator/Machinist.
- At least 1 (or more years) of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Ability to effectively and safely use a variety of tools and equipment, including but not limited to depth gauges, bore gauges, height gauges, feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, deburring tools, die grinders, drill presses, and overhead lifting equipment.
Core Competencies:
- Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines.
- Ability to convert between metric and US standard units of measure.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
- Ability to use standard problem-solving methods (ie. 5 Whys) as trained.
- Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
