Electro-mechanical CAD designer responsible for supporting product design projects including processing customer orders, Engineering change requests, and provide technical support to other functions.
Responsibilities
Developing detailed product designs (70%) and documentation packages (30%) for both Manufacturing and our Customers utilizing various 3D CAD modeling packages and computerized systems.

Job Overview
Electro-mechanical CAD designer responsible for supporting product design projects including processing customer orders, Engineering change requests, and provide technical support to other functions.
Responsibilities
- Design packages shall include but are not limited to the development of sheet metal parts, assembly drawings, piping layouts, creating bills of materials using a Product Life Cycle Management program (Windchill).
- Support preparation of customer documentation packages including but not limited to technical manuals, product drawings, spare parts lists, specification sheets, etc.
- The candidate shall be responsible for the accuracy of their work and must be able to work in a team environment interfacing with various departments. It is essential for the candidate to demonstrate a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- 2 – 3 years of experience in Product Manufacturing and supporting Custom Engineered Product designs.
- Proficiency with 3D software such as Creo (preferred) / Solid Edge, 2D software AutoCAD (must), and Microsoft Office Products Including (Excel, Word, & Outlook).
- Understanding design tolerances, welding symbols, and electrical control symbols
- Ability to maintain rigorous revision control standards using PLM software to ensure design accuracy and documentation traceability.
- Knowledge in navigating Windchill PLM workflows (a plus), managing CAD data through lifecycle states, and participating in change management tasks (PR/CN/CT) is a plus.
- Experience with the use of an ERP / MRP system a plus but not required.
- Well organized, detail oriented, self-starter with ability to learn new processes.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and willing to work overtime as required.
- Knowledge of drawing systems (creation, documentation, and archiving)
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes a plus.
- High School Degree, Associates Degree in Engineering Technology a plus.
- Understanding of airflow systems, piping, metal fabrication, electrical control design.
- Analytical, problem?solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast?paced environment.
- Effective communication skills.
