An Ingenium teacher modifies and differentiates to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB DUTIES:KEY CONTRIBUTIONSSupport the mission, vision, and core values of Ingenium SchoolsStrive to implement, by instruction and action, Ingenium Schools philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives in connection with Ingeniums Signature PracticesContinuously maintain and improve professional competenceAttend mandatory trainings, professional meetings, and educational conferences, as requiredCLASSROOM CULTUREBuild relationships with all students that demonstrate mutual respect and compassionEncourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, measuring progress through individual and class goal settingInvolve students in the process of the classroom including: creating a class Code of Cooperation, creating classroom procedures, and conflict resolution strategiesCreate a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment conducive to learning and based on student interests and goalsIncorporate restorative justice and PBIS practices and implement social emotional learning curriculumImplement and support school/organizational policies governing student life and conductUtilize educational technology including GoogleApps for Education to enhance learning experiencesACADEMICDesign, implement, and monitor the learning experiences of each student.Explain and demonstrate art techniques and art historyDisplays a passion for and loves sharing that passion with childrenDevelop a scope and sequence of CA art standards and select those most important to skill-building over timeLessons should be fun, meaningful, and engagingArt curriculum should build over time (not repeat) through the grades (the art teacher will teach all grade levels (TK-5th) each year, so curriculum must build)Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods: lecture, discussion, demonstration, student-led instruction, etc.Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students differing needs and interestsPrepare and implement intervention programs for students requiring extra helpIn harmony with curriculum goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students dailyPrepare art materials and classroom for class activitiesPlan and supervise class projects, field trips, and guide students in learning from activitiesDATA DRIVENProvide frequent and timely feedback to students and parents on student behaviorMaintain and accurate and complete student records as required by law and Ingenium Schools policies (e.g., student attendance)Maintain student confidentialityCOLLABORATIONConfer with students and parents outside of the instructional day to resolve students behavioral and/or academic issues, as neededMaintain and improve professional competence and participate in professional development opportunitiesActively participate in team meetings and serve on staff committees, school-wide events, parent workshops, and community partnership eventsAssist with school/organizational events, general supervision, extra-curricular support, tutoring, etc., as neededPerform related duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESKNOWLEDGE OF:Highly effective teaching strategies for all student subgroupsPhysical skills and abilities of students from grades TK-5 to know what students can do developmentallyKnowledge of the theory and techniques required to compose and produce fine art in varied mediumsCalifornia Common Core State Standards curriculum and instructionPrinciples and methods of curriculum designEffective measurements of learning/assessments, including diagnostic, formative and summative, performance tasks and project evaluationEnglish language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammarMathematics, including arithmetic, geometry, algebra, etc.Child cognitive development and learning stylesLearning and motivational strategies that extend all students towards high academic and personal achievementComputer application and Internet search skillsABILITY TO:Work independently as a single specialistEstablish a culture of high expectations based on the belief that all students can be successfulDevelop and implement profound learning experiences, lesson plans, and classroom activities based on the principles and theories of fine artAnalyze qualitative and quantitative student data;
