Senior Mechanical Engineer - Aerospace and Defense Ingenium Technologies Location : Indianapolis, IN - remote work from home is not available. Our client is a manufacturer of gear boxes, transmissions, power-packs, hybrid propulsion systems, suspension systems, slide bearings, couplings and test systems. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to : Designing, developing and improving mechanical systems and components.Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that mechanical systems meet performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness standards.Create designs and layouts of test benches and gearboxesDesign of test bench structures and creation of variant designs.Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.Calculate and selection of machine elements and hydraulic components.Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and other team members to integrate mechanical systems with electronic and software systems.Coordinate and facilitate communication with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure clarity.Conduct prototypes, testing, and validation to ensure product functionality and performance.Identify and resolve mechanical design issues and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Required Software : Siemens NX, MS Office Required Experience : 5-15 years of experience designing, developing and improving mechanical systems and components.5-15 years of experience creating designs and layouts of test benches and gearboxesDesign of test bench structures and creation of variant designs.Ability to work effectively in both independent and diverse team environments.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop practical engineering solutions for difficult problems.Required Education : Bachelor of Science Degree required Position : Direct Hire Travel : 5% domestic and international required Compensation : Highly Competitive with Benefits.
