What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dimensional Accuracy Specialist position at Ingenics Corporation USA?

We are seeking a BiW (Body-in-White) Specialist who will be an expert in analyzing root causes of BiW assembly deviations as well as in identifying and implementing effective countermeasure using analytical, conceptual and creative thinking.


Responsibilities:

· Perform and lead complex problem solving issues with respect to dimensional accuracy, fit and function in all manufacturing areas (body, paint and assembly).

· Lead cross-functional workgroups for problem solving activities.

· Analyze BIW (Body in White) measurement reports (CMM, Inline/HGV, etc.)

· Analyze BIW stamping part measurement reports.

· Analyze root causes of problems through evaluation of measurement data and “hands on panel/fixture fit techniques.

· Develop “countermeasures” to resolve problems.

· Initiate part sample production trials to detect process defects or errors and to confirm product changes and quality improvements.

· Confirm and optimize operating processes and supplier parts.

· Develop concepts to improve BIW tooling (dies and assembly fixtures) and inspection devices.

· Initiate product and process changes.

· Confirm stamping/assembly parts in regard to dimensional accuracy and consistency in the manufacturing process.

· Consult with tool and part suppliers regarding the optimization of dies and assembly fixtures with the Quality Dept.

· Provide follow up on quality issues.

· Work with others to develop concepts for larger process tooling and equipment changes.

· Initiate product “re-work” instructions.

· Develop and integrate special tools, models and templates.

· Organize, participate and report in meetings.

· Confirm results of internal and external changes.

Confirm production readiness, using PPAP process.


Minimum Requirements:

· Engineering degree in technical field and/or equivalent experience in automotive BiW production / production equipment

Experience in automotive manufacturing and/or automotive body weld equipment manufacturing
