Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Automation & Controls Project Engineer with strong industrial automation and controls experience to support assembly equipment projects in an automotive manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating suppliers, supporting equipment installation/build-up, reviewing automation systems, and assisting with commissioning and production start-up activities.
Key Requirement: Practical experience with VASS standards is required. Certification is not required.
Responsibilities
- Support project planning, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities for assembly automation equipment.
- Coordinate interfaces between suppliers, contractors, trades, IT, and internal project teams.
- Review automation concepts, hardware plans, PLC/robot applications, control logic, and installations.
- Support VIBN activities and testing of PLC/robot programs using provided tools and archives.
- Track project milestones, manage deficiencies, and support resolution activities.
- Participate in construction meetings, inspections, and supplier coordination.
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and status updates.
- Ensure compliance with VASS standards and project requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting automotive automation and general assembly projects.
- Strong knowledge of plant engineering processes and assembly equipment.
- Experience with PLCs, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Hands-on experience with VASS V6 standards.
- Strong project coordination and supplier management skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Teams, Jira, and Confluence.
- English required; German proficiency preferred.
