Specialty Infusion Nurse Per Diem

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong IV insertion skills and have experience in various clinical settings, including emergency room environments. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients requiring infusion therapy in their home, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.

Responsibilities

• Administer intravenous medications and fluids as prescribed by physicians in the patients home.
• Monitor patient responses to infusion therapy, documenting vital signs and any adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Educate patients and their families about infusion procedures, potential side effects, and aftercare.
• Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress in accordance with clinic protocols.
• Utilize systems effectively for tracking patient information and treatment schedules.
• Provide support in family planning discussions when necessary, ensuring comprehensive care and contacting the pharmacy when needed.
• Stay current with advancements in infusion techniques and medical technologies relevant to the role.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Proficiency in medical terminology related to infusion therapy and patient care.
• Strong background in emergency room nursing is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices in nursing.
