Diesel / Hydraulic Mechanic

Job Overview
The Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems on truck-mounted booms, cranes, and aerial lift devices. This role focuses on keeping equipment safe, reliable, and ready for customer use. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with manufacturers such as Terex, Palfinger, Elliott, and Altec and understands both hydraulic and electrical control systems commonly used on this type of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues on truck-mounted cranes, booms, and aerial devices.
• Repair and replace hydraulic components including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, motors, and fittings.
• Troubleshoot control systems (joysticks, solenoids, sensors, load moment indicators, and CAN systems where applicable).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Conduct operational and safety tests after repairs to ensure proper function.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and service manuals.
• Document work performed, parts used, and findings accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience working as a hydraulic mechanic on truck-mounted equipment.
• Proven experience with brands such as Terex, Palfinger, Elliott, Altec, or similar manufacturers.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical systems related to hydraulic controls.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
